Make note of the following important dates (if applicable):

January 17

Quarterly estimated tax payment due for 4th Quarter of the previous year

January 23

Begins the income tax filing season

January 31

Deadline for employers to furnish forms W-2 and 1099 and file these forms with the IRS and Social Security office

Individuals deadline to file tax return if they did not make their 4th Quarter estimated tax payment by January 17th

February 15

The IRS will begin to release Earned Income Tax Credit and Additional Child Tax Credit refunds. However, the IRS cautions taxpayers that these refunds likely won’t arrive in bank accounts or debit cards until the week of February 27.

February 28

Deadline for employers to file 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS if filing on paper

March 2

Employers to furnish forms 1095-B and 1095-C to employees

March 15

Partnership and S-Corp deadline to file tax return and furnish Schedule K-1 to each partner or shareholder

March 31

Deadline for employers to file 1094-B, 1095-B, 1094-C and 1095-C with the IRS if filing electronically

April 18

Individual tax return filing due date or automatic 6-month extension; 1st installment of 2017 estimated tax payment due

October 16

Individual tax return filing due date for those who filed an automatic 6-month extension

June 15

2nd installment of 2017 estimated tax payment due

September 15

3rd installment of 2017 estimated tax payment due
